The Ultimate Potting Mix is our all-purpose performer. Everything necessary to grow most indoor and outdoor plants can be found in this general purpose formula. The Ultimate Potting Mix is the mix that will work well for germinating seeds as well as hanging baskets.

Interior & Foliage Mix is a soilless formula with added coarse textured sphagnum peat moss and perlite offers faster and more efficient drainage for plants requiring faster drying soil. This property makes of the Interior & Foliage Mix a serious potting mix for all tropical and foliage plants.

Seed & Cutting Mix is a fine milled lightweight soil formula, including black peat and fine perlite, that optimizes germination conditions. The sphagnum peat blend with wetting agent provides an excellent balance between moisture retention and air capacity to prevent root disease while promoting efficient rooting. The ideal starter formula for germination seeds and rooting leaf, stem, and root cuttings.

Orchid Mix is a blend of sphagnum peat chunks, red fir bark, hardwood charcoal, and volcanic lava rock combined to create an environment that will prevent the roots from being kept too wet while providing humidity. Excellent drainage and secure anchoring for the roots makes this long-lasting mix ideal for your orchids.

Cactus Mix is a real stand-out for versatility. This coarse mix with granite sand and extra perlite, duplicates conditions found in an arid environment. This heavy weight potting mix performs well under low water application.

African Violet Mix is a specially formulated with a peat blend that provides good air capacity and water retention. Ferti-lome African Violet mix is an excellent mix for African Violets but it’s also indicated for all the plants of the Gesneriad family such as Streptocarpus, Episcias and Gloxinias.

Ferti-lome Sphagnum Peat Moss is an excellent soil amendment because of its capacity to retain water, aerate the soil and it is completely natural. Completely natural and organic, Sphagnum Peat Moss is the answer to both compact and loose soil conditions.

The Richlawn Company

When we say “Made in Colorado for Colorado soils” we mean it. All of our products are 100% organic, or organic-based and we have been producing these products for over 30 years; well before it became fashionable to “go green”.

Nature`s Yield Organic Compost

Nature’s Yield Organic Compost is 100% Organic. It is thoroughly cured compost. Products that are only partially decomposed can actually reduce the amount of Nitrogen available to your plants, because the micro-organisms will use the nitrogen to finish decomposing the material. Nature’s Yield Compost is blended with spaghnum peat moss for added moisture retention. Nature’s Yield uses untreated wood products for a carbon source. It has a consistent mix due to its carefully controlled quality ingredients.

GENERAL USE

  1. Before planting check your pot or planter box for proper drainage and fill with potting soil to desired height based on the arrangement of your plants, seedlings, or seeds.
  2. Insert individual seeds or seedlings to the proper depth depending on the seed variety or size of seedling.
  3. Once everything is planted, fill in any spot to create an even plane of soil just shy of the pot's rim.
  4. Gently press soil to desired level and water in completely.
  • HELPFUL TIP: To ensure maximum success, be sure to plant seeds and seedlings at proper depth.

  • SEEDLING TRAYS: Fill trays and pat down the soil slightly with your hands or a firming board. Plant seeds to recommended depth for each variety with your hands or a Dibber. Water thoroughly.

  • TRANSPLANTING: Add 2-4 inches of soil to the bottom of the new pot (depending on the desired look) and moisten. Take your plant or seedling out of its container, gently loosen the roots, and position into the new pot. Fill in any open space and gently press soil to desired depth. Water thoroughly.
